POSTPONED - Celebrating Five Years of Calltime Mental Health: Join Us for Our Anniversary Event!

Update: August 26, 2024

We regret to announce that we have postponed the event until 2025. The industry is still finding its feet after the long writers and actors strikes last year. Due to the impending negotiations with BC locals and the AMPTP coming up early next year, it seemed appropriate to postpone the event.

We are thrilled to announce that Calltime Mental Health will be celebrating its 5-year anniversary with a special event on Saturday, October 19, 2024. The celebration will take place at the Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre, from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

Calltime Mental Health is a dedicated public resource and mental health campaign designed for all workers in the motion picture industry and performing arts. Launched by British Columbia's motion picture industry unions, our initiative supports workers and their families facing mental health and addiction challenges, both in and out of the workplace. The anniversary event will also serve as a crucial fundraising opportunity for Calltime Mental Health. The funds raised during the evening will support our future projects and content for 2025 and 2026. You can check out our Annual Report for 2023 here

The anniversary event promises to be an evening filled with engaging activities and opportunities for our community to connect and support one another. One of the highlights of the night will be a silent auction, featuring a range of exciting items. We will be updating the auction list periodically, so keep an eye out for announcements on our website and social media channels for the latest information.

In addition to the silent auction, guests can look forward to a variety of entertaining and interactive activities. There will be a photo booth where you can capture fun moments with friends and colleagues, as well as a trivia game that will test your knowledge and offer some great prizes. A 50/50 draw will also be part of the festivities, giving attendees a chance to win while contributing to a good cause.

Over the past five years, Calltime Mental Health has made significant strides in raising awareness and providing support for mental health within the industry. Our campaigns have reached over 25,000 workers, helping to destigmatize mental health issues and promote a culture of openness and support. Through blog posts, podcasts and most importantly our learning center, we have offered practical tools and strategies for managing mental health in the demanding and often stressful environments of the motion picture and performing arts industries.

Our anniversary event is not only a celebration of our achievements but also a call to action. We invite all attendees to continue their support of our mental health campaign. Whether you are a worker, an employer, or an ally, your participation and contributions can make a significant difference. The run of show will be shared with you in the next few weeks.

As we prepare for this milestone event, we encourage everyone to spread the word and bring along friends and colleagues. Together, we can ensure that Calltime Mental Health Society continues to thrive and provide essential support for our community. Save the date and join us on October 19, 2024, for an evening of celebration, connection, and support at the Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre.
